Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley Receives National Quality Award
DAYTON, OH June 26, 2020 – Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley (BBBSMV) is the recipient of a Quality Award recognizing the dedication of agency leadership and staff to providing high-quality programming.
Agencies receiving the Quality Award met or exceeded goals that were 5 percentage points higher than the national average for all Big Brother Big Sisters (BBBS) agencies across the country. Out of 17 BBBS agencies in Ohio, BBBSMV is the only affiliate to receive this award, and is one of 26 agencies out of 250 across the United States to be recognized.
“Each match between a Big and Little takes care and attention, and this Quality Award shows that Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley has done an outstanding job serving children in its community,” said Pam Iorio, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Last year, Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley provided mentors for 528 youth and continue to serve youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Keeping kids connected to their mentors during the pandemic is more important than ever. These mentors are an essential lifeline for kids, who are leaning on their Bigs to change the racial inequities and injustices that have gone on far too long” says Pfeiffer.
